Fiscal Year 2024 Personal Exemption Applications

Starting July 1, 2023, residents can begin applying for FY2024 Personal Exemptions. In addition to the filled-out exemption application, you will need the following information for each exemption.

VETERANS:  You will need the current award letter from the Veteran's Administration as to the level of your disability.  If you are applying for the first time, you also need a copy of your DD214. 

SENIOR (41C):  You will need your July 1, 2023 statements for all of your assets which include checking and savings accounts, stocks, bonds, money market accounts, IRA's, CD's, annuities, 401K accounts or private pensions (once legally qualifying for distribution); copies of your 2022 Social Security Benefit statement; W2's and/or 1099's for 2022 or copy of FY2022 Tax Return; Birth Certificate (1st time only that you have reached the age of 65).

ELDERLY, SURVIVING SPOUSE, MINOR (17D):  You will need Birth Certificates (Elderly age 65, Minor Child under 18 only for the first time your are applying); Statements for all of your assets which include checking and savings accounts. stocks, bonds, money market accounts, CD's, annuities, IRA's (once legally qualifying for distribution).  This information is as of July 1, 2023.

BLIND (37):  You will need your certificate from the Commission for the Blind attesting to a condition of legal blindness or as an alternative for the first year the exemption is sought, a letter from a reputable physician certifying blindness in accordance of the Commission of the Blind. For each subsequent year the certificate will be required.

TO BE ELIGIBLE for an exemption, you must be one of the legal owners, have a Life Estate, or be one of the Trustees and a listed Beneficiary of a Trust.  Your legal domicile must be Avon..
