Flag Status

Please be advised that Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey has ordered that the United States of America flag and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts flag be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings from sunrise until sunset on Monday April 29, 2024, the date of interment, in honor of Corporal Manuel John Pimentel, U.S. Marine Corps, Company A, 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, (KIA, Lunga Area of Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands, September 24th, 1942) of Medford, Massachusetts. Remains of Corporal Manuel John Pimentel, who was killed during the Guadalcanal campaign WWII, we be laid to rest at the Cambridge Cemetery, in Cambridge, Massachusetts on this day.
