Town Office Building Project

existing town hall

The Board of Selectmen saw an issue with various long term capital needs of the two buildings housing the town hall, council on aging and Recreation.  These ranged from HVAC, roof, and other structural needs.  To better understand the overall condition of the building, current and future space needs, the BOS decided to undertake a space and feasibility study.  The focus of the study was to see understand the condition of the building, potential layout of a renovation and the cost associated with it and potential cost on a constructing a new building as part of the needs assessment for space requirements for town programs.  There was funding available from a previous article as part of a town building committee to do feasibility studies.  Additional funding was requested at the May, 2021 town meeting to cover the balance of the projected cost of the study.

The goal of the project is to get a full understanding of what the next best steps are and cost associated with them as we move forward with any renovation project.

May 2, 2022 - ATM Article 18 passes to create a seven member Town Office Feasibility Committee. The committee will review the possible renovations or new construction options of the existing Town Hall. The committee will report back to the Board of Selectmen with their findings and recommendations.
