The Avon Select Board of the Department of Public Works, Avon, MA will receive sealed Bids for the Central Street and Page Street Tank Rehabilitation in Avon, MA until Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. local time, at the Town Hall, 65 East Main Street, Avon, MA 02322 at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read. All Bids shall be submitted within a sealed envelope addressed to the "Select Board" and entitled "Bid for Contract No. 2024-1".
 
The project consists of spot interior repair, spot exterior repair and a full exterior overcoat at the Central Street Standpipe and a full tank coating rehabilitation of the Page Street Standpipe in Avon, Massachusetts along with other appurtenant work on the tank. There will be a pre-bid meeting starting at the Central Street Tank on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 1:00 pm.
                                                                                                                           
The Contractor shall supply all labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete the work contained in the Specifications. All employees that are to work on this project will have to have completed at least the 10-hour OSHA training on construction safety and health. Minimum Wage Rates (Painter Bridges/Tanks) as determined by the Massachusetts Commissioner of the Department of Labor and Workforce Development shall apply to the labor force on this project.
 
The Bidder must be able to demonstrate that his/her firm has a minimum of five (5) years experience on five (5) water tanks of equal or larger size in containment, surface preparation and full recoating of potable water tanks in the New England Region.

Each bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond, Cash, a Certified Check or a Treasurer's or Cashier's Check issued by a responsible Bank or Trust Company, in the amount of five (5) percent of the submitted bid, as Bid Security.
 
The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Payment and Performance Bond each in the full amount of the Contract.
 
Contract payment will be by the lump sum price and/or unit price method as indicated on the Bid Form.  No Bidder may withdraw his/her Bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date designated above for the opening.
 
Bids for this Contract are subject to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws (MGL) Chapter 30, Section 39M.  The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or to accept any Bid deemed by them to be in the best interest of the Avon Department of Public Works and to limit the extent of the work to keep within the limits of available funds.
