2024 Water Main Replacement

     

Dear Resident,

 

We are writing to inform you of a proposed water main construction project in your area.  The Construction Contract has been awarded to Oliveira Construction, Inc., located in Somerset, Massachusetts.  The Contractor expects to mobilize and begin delivering materials by March 15, 2024 with construction commencing shortly thereafter.  The expected duration of the project is approximately one month. 

 

Water mains will be installed in May Avenue and Chestnut Road. 

 

Every effort will be made to limit inconvenience to you during construction but, as with any project of this nature, you can expect delays traveling through the work area and should plan accordingly.

 

Please advise your children to stay away from the construction area.  Playing on construction equipment, stored materials or in the construction area can be dangerous.

 

Construction work will generally proceed in the following sequence:

 

Materials delivery

Installation of water mains

Testing of water mains

Temporary paving clean-up and site restoration

Installation of water services

 

As part of this project, the contractor will install a water service for each property along the water main route, which will include a tap into the new water main, service pipe and a shut-off at the property line.  Our site representative will be contacting you regarding your proposed service location.
